I really hope whoever bought the living water plot does something worthy of the real estate. This could be a good place for a signature building with a little architecture so it enhances the main intersection. Anything less and I'm disappointed. Oh, and please, don't put up a free standing clock tower. Think of something original.
On the tangent topic concerning Burke's: I don't mind that the smokers are outside, their right. But do they have to be "glued" with their backs to the building or sitting in the doorway? Does not make the establishment inviting.

I completely agree: the four corners could surely use some enhancing and that would be a great place to start.
As for the second part of your post, I think I've said before how ironic it seems that those smokers stand facing Willard H. Scott's place across the street!
I looked up the Monroe County Records for this property, and "Webster Crossing LLC" purchased the building. What that is, I don't know. Probably something boring like a Scotch Tape Store.....
The same people that own Maplewood Nursing Home i heard purchased the building. I hear they are thinking of putting an icecream/hot dog parlor. But that was just a rumor. Looks like they are working to get it cleaned up so we'll have to wait and see. As far as parking - yup it sucks, but that happens in any village shop - have to park in the public parking and walk there.
