The Town is planning to change the Tree Farm on 5 mile line rd at the south west corner of RT 104/5 mile line rd to commercial. A public hearing is set for Feb 18, 2010. This action follows a confusing process for a Comprehensive Plan Update.
Comprehensive Plan Time line and facts
1. The Draft Plan and the Future Land Use Map dated Oct 9, 2007 was presented at a Public Meeting on Sept. 11, 2008.
2. The Kunz Tree Farm property was shown and said to be “future residential” on the documents presented at that meeting and there was no discussion at the public portion of the Sept 11th meeting about changing the use. (I attended the meeting)
3. The Board approved a revised Plan on Dec.4th, 2008,.
4. The revised Future Use Map dated December 2008 shows the Kunz tree Farm property as Mixed Use (red color). The written Plan document designates the property as “Low-Density Mixed Use" (pink color).
5. Some person or Department in Town Government is proposing to change the zoning to LC-2 to conform to the Comprehensive Plan Update (written portion).
Does anyone know how this got in to the Comprehensive Plan in the two months between the Public Meeting and the Town Board meeting?
The people at Town Hall do not answer that question.
I posted this also in the "sound Off" section also because this section does'nt seem to get much attention.
